Grubb for the House
We can take back the House. It will require a lot of work, a little luck and a few great candidates like Dr. Beth Grubb.
The 122nd District is a swing district. Rep. Mike McGhee is the current occupant of the seat. He’s taking his money from the pro-school voucher folks. He received ZERO contributions to his campaign from any real, non-PAC contributors. Not one single person in the district donated to him in the last quarter. A recent blog story – “Mike McGhee Hates Teachers and Schools” – is very insightful. You can learn more about Beth and Mike’s voting record at Beth's web site.
Beth has her Ph.D in Public Policy from St. Louis University and an MBA and BS degree from CMSU. For twenty years, she has worked with children and adults with disabilities. Beth is currently the Executive Director of the Sunshine Center in Independence, MO. She is highly qualified to represent the citizens of the 122nd District, and to defeat the current GOP incumbent.
How about the 122nd and why can she win? Susan Montee won this district in 2006 by 52%. Ike Skelton won the district by 79%. The last Democratic candidate lost 45% to 55% - she didn’t even put up a race, raise money and was not well know in the district. Minimum wage won by 76%. Claire McCaskill lost the district by a mere 343 votes (Beth has almost that many relatives in the county). Beth’s family goes back generations. Her son played football in Odessa. She attends church there. Folks not only like her, they love her. Beth is working hard (she had a booth at the Methodist Farmer’s Market, according to the Odessa newspaper). She’s id’ing voters. She is the perfect out-state candidate.
Remember Steve Hodges from East Prairie – no one thought he could win in the Bootheel. Well, he’s now Representative Hodges. Beth Grubb is one of those candidates that makes you proud to be a Democrat and will be a great addition when we take back the majority

This is totally unfair, that district gets a babe like her and we get stuck with Amy Coffman.
Beth and company had better check the latest Ethics Commission contribution report because she will be shocked. Mike is smoking her with a long list of individuals (a very long list) who have contributed and are working for his re-election. The total contribution tally is worth noting as well. And for the record Mike is respected by a large constituency that knows how much he loves schools and works for them as well as for numerous charitable organizations and other causes near and dear to the heart of the 122nd District. The blogger who wrote this negative comment about Rep. McGhee is uninformed and is misleading constituents. Hopefully Beth will not stoop to dirty campaigning and untruths and will run a civilized campaign. That would be refreshing. Time will tell.
Wow, I can't believe the attacks on Rep. McGhee already. Beth must not have any plans for the state of Missouri and has to resort to twisted lies. The great thing that assures me that Rep McGhee will keep his seat is the fact that his recent fundraiser in rural Odessa that over 150 of 122nd district voters packed John Kings Clydesdale Farm. I heard that Beth hosted an event and could barely find a few supporters to take the time to attend. This rep seat must not be expected to change because its not getting any attention in state political world. Predict McGhee over Grubb by an easy 5 points.
Check out the Missouri ethics report filed by Mike McGhee for this last quarter.

If Higginsville is outside of the district, then there is not a single person in his district that donated to him last quarter. A lot of pro-voucher money, though.
Wow!!! I am really disgusted by the people who think Beth Grubb would run anything but a positive and hard-working campaign. She has been out almost every night going door to door, meeting people, and listening to what they have to say, no matter what it might be. She has never said a bad thing about Mike McGhee, only disagrees with him. She believes, and so do I, that vouchers are bad. Yet Mike supports the idea and also receives money from voucher pacs. Beth is a stand up individual who wants only good things for Missorians especially the people of the 122nd district which she has been a part of for over 20 years. Mike is a crap landlord and to be honest not all that intelligent. He DOES NOT have many contributions from individuals 5 to be exact according to his last ethics report. Maybe flowering dogwood should take a closer look! He also took money from Anheiser-Busch, which is now out-sourcing to other countries. How on earth did he get the AFL-CIO endorsement? I hope that people take the time to look at Beth's website and see she is a genuine person with a real passion for people and also really wants to see change in Missouri! And so do I, which is why I will be voting for her in November!
